Manchester Central
Aztec has been specified to offer technical, audio-visual and creative assistance to innovative businesses and organisations hosting events at Manchester Central. This stunning convention complex has been created out of the former Manchester Central railway station, retaining the distinctive Grade II listed arched roof. It is the city’s second-largest live event venue after the Manchester Arena.
The original Manchester Central railway station was constructed in 1875 and previously served as the terminus for express trains between Manchester and London St Pancras. The station closed its doors in 1969 and it wasn’t until 1986 when it was reopened as the Greater Manchester Exhibition Centre. Two phases of recent renovation took place in 2008 and 2009 to future-proof the now-renamed Manchester Central. Today, there is meeting space for up to 10,000 delegates, with 23,000 square metres of versatile floor space to utilise your way.
The multi-faceted Manchester Central venue offers a multitude of event locations on-site, tailored to the number of guests and the style of event you wish to host. Central Hall is the epicentre of Manchester Central, with its column-free space ideal for conventional exhibition or conference layouts. For product launches and press conferences, the Charter Suite and the Central Meeting Rooms offer ample space. Meanwhile the Exchange Auditorium is best-suited to seminars and more intimate industry conferences.
Aztec’s Event Partnership team regularly offers technical and audio-visual support to events at Manchester Central. We have developed a strong working relationship with the staff on-site over the years. Our expertise in supporting both the larger exhibition and smaller meeting spaces means we can point you in the right direction when it comes to stage or table layouts, as well as sound, lighting and projection.
However big or small your event, you can find a flexible and contemporary venue to suit at Manchester Central. When you work with our award-winning live events team, you can depend on the same attention to detail for intimate boardroom AGMs as world-class conferences and exhibitions.
