On Thursday 18th June some of our team were sailing at the second edition of Reed Exhibitions Supplier Regatta in Southampton.

Companies who supply Reed’s shows participated in the races, manning ten boats in total. Great fun was had by all and the Aztec team did a pretty well, finishing in 5th place! Congratulations to our friends at Freeman who were the winners of the day.

The event was an opportunity to spend some time with all the people who work on Reed Exhibitions throughout the year. Based on a campsite near Southampton we enjoyed meeting and catching up with our industry colleagues for two nights full of fun.

Event Supplier, Aztec Event Services has announced that it has just secured the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 9001 certificate. The company has spent the last 18 months working towards its first ISO which involved having its working practices independently audited by AJA Registrars Ltd.

ISO9001 is an internationally recognised standard which establishes processes to ensure quality and consistency of product / service as well as continuous improvement. In gaining ISO 9001 Aztec has provided evidence that client’s requirements are being fully understood and proper proposals created that are technically accurate and functional. Useable metrics are also acquired to analyse performance and identify areas for improvement.

Although these structures and standards have always been at the heart of Aztec’s own service offering, the official and independent ISO certification allows Aztec to quickly assess if they have the capacity and capability to take on and successfully deliver any tender. The identifiable ISO logo will allow new clients to immediately recognise Aztec as a trusted and professional company.

Steve Colesell, Aztec’s Operations Director, talked with pride about the company’s achievement “Aztec already has a strong reputation as a trusted supplier that goes the extra mile. This certification is proof to new clients as well as existing ones that you have chosen the best when you choose Aztec. We have the experts in place but also the infrastructure and process management to deliver what we promise.”

Having gained ISO9001 certification, the company will now turn its attention to IS14001 certification, which it intends to achieve by autumn 2015, and OSHAS18001 during spring 2016.

Aztec has been named finalist for all three categories entered for in the 2015 Exhibition News Awards

-Best use of Event Technology
-Best Supplier to Organisers
-Chloe Retter as Best Service Support Provider

The 9th annual Exhibition News Awards will take place on Friday 10th April, 2015 at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge, London.

In addition, Emirates Stadium, where Aztec is the in-house AV supplier, has also been shortlisted in the Best Venue under 10,000sqm category.

Following on from the recent announcements regarding the formation of Aztec Live to provide outdoor electrical and AV services and their partnership with Freeman UK, at next week’s Confex Aztec will be announcing another partnership with interactive technology specialist iS Digital.

At the exhibition, Aztec will be showcasing their EventIgnite Digital Signage to broadcast an array of sponsored adverts on screens that have been carefully positioned throughout the hall. These will drive traffic to specific exhibitor stands as well as communicating time sensitive messages to visitors.

In addition, Aztec will be providing the AV for the Keynote theatre and, for the first time ever, Aztec are hosting a stand at Confex this year, as John Robson, M.D. explains, “Confex provides us with the perfect opportunity to talk directly to event organisers and agencies about our existing products and services. It is also the perfect place to demonstrate some exciting new technology and to launch our partnership with iS digital”

Robson expands on the main benefits of the new partnership;

“Working with iS digital will allow us to talk to all of our clients at a much earlier stage surrounding their content needs. The partnership will, in turn, allow iS digital to offer a complete turn-key solution to their clients who often also require hardware and logistical help, which we can supply. It’s a win-win relationship that will draw on each other’s areas of expertise to increase what we each have to offer new and existing clients.”

iS digital’s CEO Hilary Crossley also explains her company’s involvement, “Established in 2007 we are now focusing on expanding our Digital Agency, bringing creative ideas, fantastic software development and latest technology to events, exhibitions & corporate installations. We create memorable digital and interactive experiences for a wide variety of clients such as Shell, Lancôme, Weidmuller Engineering and Barclays. We have a small team of hardware engineers and limited rental stock and our partnership with Aztec’s allows us to extend our reach, expand our rental offer and deliver truly international logistics.”

Crossley continues; “We are very excited about being at Confex with Aztec. We will be talking to a relevant audience at the right time in the right place and will have a lot to offer them. Working alongside Aztec, we can demonstrate some of the practical applications of our technology to an audience already warm to Aztec’s trusted brand. We hope visitors will be impressed by what they see and come away enlightened and inspired by a new world of content possibilities that we can deliver together.”

Visit Aztec and iS digital at stand CC30 18-19th February at Confex 2015, London Olympia or contact hello@aztecuk.com for more information.
