58VE appoints Aztec as Venue AV partner

Aztec Event Services contracted to provide in-house technical production services at ‘58VE’, a brand new London event space, located at 58 Victoria Embankment.

A few months before opening, Neil Ormonroyd, Head of Venue Sales and Operations at 58VE, invited several of London’s most reputable audiovisual providers to tender for the provision of technical services at the venue. 58VE undertook a thorough review, which included visits to the shortlisted companies’ premises to view their warehouse operations, vetting of quality procedures, taking up of references and a panel interview. As a result of this rigorous process, Aztec were appointed as the organisation to partner 58VE for its technical production services.

After announcing the outcome of the tender process, Neil commented

“Everything about 58VE has been designed and built in order to help our clients run great events. But having an amazing space is not enough if we don’t deliver outstanding service and we recognised very early on that we needed excellent partners to help us achieve this. From an early stage of the tender process it became apparent that Aztec share a lot of our values and their desire to deliver consistently high levels of service together with outstanding technical ability really shone through.”

58VE sits on the banks of the Thames in a highly sought after area close to Blackfriars Rail Station. One of their event spaces is a large, sheltered balcony with enviable views up and down the river facing landmarks such as the London Eye and the Oxo Tower.

Across two floors 58VE has a number of versatile rooms that are designed for meetings, conferences and events, catering for anything from a meeting of 8 to a launch party of 75 or a conference for up to 180 people.

Not only is the venue in a fantastic location the rooms are adaptable ‘blank canvasses’, with a lounge and balcony area that is a perfect private space for holding a reception and entertaining clients.

Cutting edge technology has been installed throughout the building to cater to different client needs. This includes retractable ceiling mounted projector screens, LED screens, videoconferencing consoles, webcams and fixed ceiling cameras, all of which Aztec will manage. Aztec will also provide supplementary equipment to clients with specific event requirements from its vast arsenal of equipment in its London warehouse.

John Robson, Aztec’s MD talked with pride about the appointment.

“58VE is a very impressive and much needed event space in this part of London. We are very excited to be part of this new venture and to be expanding Aztec’s reach in the event industry based on our unrivalled reputation as a technical production company. We know that the combination of the right location, the right venue and using the right technology can take an event from ordinary to extraordinary. I have no doubt that, together with the 58VE team, we will deliver many impressive events here. In an area lacking in suitable and affordable event space, I am sure the partnership between Aztec and 58VE will appeal to the most discerning of clients.”

Aztec kick starts its 10th anniversary with the launch of their new Exhibitor shop

Ten years ago this month, John Robson led a management buyout and established Aztec Event Services. As a supplier of AV equipment to the event and exhibitions industry Aztec has been at the forefront of developing technologies ever since.

Launching a new ecommerce site therefore seems like a fitting way to celebrate the company’s 10th birthday. www.shop.aztecuk.com is aimed at Exhibitors where Aztec are the official AV supplier which last year was over 250 shows across the UK and Europe. The site delivers a simple yet professional experience for exhibitor clients wishing to order screens, IT and office equipment or PA systems for their stands.

“The design of the site is clean and intuitive offering a familiar user experience. Price promotions and savings are also easy to understand so exhibitors can see exactly what they are paying for without any hidden extras at checkout.” comments Piers Kelly, Operations Director at Reed Exhibitions Ltd, who took part in the usability test during the site build.

This is an important point for Robson too,
“The gap between B2C and B2B is narrowing and the way businesses order online needs to be as seamless as it is for consumers. Our new site makes ordering with us easier and means our sales team can concentrate on talking to exhibitors who are still deciding on what they need and may require more guidance over the phone”.

“It is very exciting to be launching this site at the start of our ten year celebrations. It is a clear sign that Aztec continues to lead the way, putting the needs of its clients first. We take our role as official supplier at an exhibition very seriously and believe our new site will support the professionalism of the event and help provide the best service to exhibitors.”
